Since we have a few side trips planned, this was weekend is one of our last actually here in Sydney. So we decided to do some our favorite things here.
We started Friday night with Jeff's favorite restaurant the Bavarian Bier Garden. The place is in a refurbished church. They are really good here in Australia about preserving historical buildings so it is better for a church to be a bar than nothing at all!

Here is Jeff on the patio with his first big beer of the night. The patio wrapped around the side and back of the church and it was perfect for a summer night down under with some schnitzel.

They also have amazing home-aid pretzels that were the best appetizers for a German restaurant with heavy beer. Served piping hot with butter... yummy!

Here I am with my big beer! They also serve German wines and German Schnapps. Side note - we did not have Schnapps but one did have 56% alcohol content! Wow!!

The best part of the whole night is the accordion player who walks around playing German songs and not so German songs like the chicken dance!

A great start to a weekend of our favorites! We are really going to miss this place but are excited to be home in exactly one month.
