The Blue Mountains

Last weekend, James our Aussie friend/tour guide took us to see the Blue Mountains. They are famous for sweeping views of the mountains and valleys that are filled with beautiful trees.

Check it out- they drive on the other side of the car!

The mountains are about an hour drive west of the city, so we took rest at the information center before we headed in.

The day started out a bit rainy and cloudy but we still had a blast and it was beautiful. Our first stop James took us to was a small lookout but was stunning.

Then it was off to Echo Point to see the Three sisters. This comes from the legend of the Seven sisters in the stars and three are hanging out in Australia! The three peaks behind us are the three sisters!

A closer look at the sisters!

There is a short 10 minute walking path that takes you to the first sister - so off we walked! Jeff was a bit faster than me!

Once down the stairs and at the peak - we stopped and took some photos! James and Jeff were enjoying the view!

We the drove around to a few other lookout points to see some other views of the mountain scenery. Then we found this!

Right near this! (look down!)

We even braved the cliffs (there was a path) to take this photo on the edge of the cliff!
It was drizzling and a bit chilly, and I had woken up with a cold, but it was definitely worth it! We had a fantastic time looking at the mountains and we had a great tour guide!

Thanks James!

He even let us stop the car when I saw the Kangaroo crossing sign! I was so excited - too bad no real Kangaroos!
